Core Purpose
To maintain the CCU rental fleet by conducting regular scheduled on-site visits to inspect equipment and verify certifications and equipment conditions.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Perform the required assembly, inspections, or repair work according to a defined schedule in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
- Verify that all rental equipment is cleaned, maintained, and certified as ready for use prior to shipment.
- Support compliance technicians and tank fleet personnel with visual inspections and basic maintenance of cargo carrying units (CCUs), tanks, and other rental fleet equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and provide technical support to management and customers as necessary to resolve issues.
- Perform regular inventory checks as directed by management.
- Receive and enter into the system incoming products from vendors and rental returns from customers.
- Prepare products for shipment by performing final inspections, packaging, and loading onto trucks.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material moving equipment.
- Assist with the safe and proper loading and unloading of equipment from trucks and trailers, ensuring all securing methods are followed.
- Train other Technicians as assigned by management in the features and use of company products.
- Maintain a neat and organized work area and return all tools and equipment to their respective storage locations at the end of a job.
- Perform housekeeping duties as necessary daily.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in safety meetings.
- Promptly report any damaged equipment, malfunctions, or unsafe working conditions to management.
- Offer feedback and suggestions to management on ways to improve processes, efficiency, and safety within the yard.
- Follow all company rules and policies regarding the safety system, while on-site at the facility, or off-site conducting company business.
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment as assigned by management.
- Have strong technical product knowledge, especially regarding food grinders, compactors, slings, tanks, and cargo containing units (CCUs).
- Have a strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving initiative.
- Be competent in reading and interpreting technical product drawings, customer and industry specifications, and service manuals.
- Report to management any system discrepancies or opportunities for improvement regarding in-house and field operations which may provide continuous improvement to the system.
- Be expected to effectively and professionally communicate, with management and other co-workers in order to perform the duties of this position.
- Be thoroughly familiar with, understand, and assist in the implementation of business policies of the company, in order to support and enhance the working environment.
- Understand and perform the processes as described in the position's written operating procedures and work instructions.
- Be aware of the concepts of the quality system and the format of ISO 9001 requirements as applicable to the position's responsibilities.
- Facilitate the development of system documents such as operating procedures and work instructions that are needed in the field operations area and support the implementation of such.
- Conduct company business as directed by the company's management and further develop the system in accordance with the company's mission and quality objectives and goals.
- Travel as necessary to conduct company business and represent the company in matters pertaining to the system.
- Maintaining and Filling information on all forms of media as required by the departments processes.
- Performs other tasks and assists in special projects as per supervisor's request.
Skills and Experience
- One to five years of practical experience serving as a yard/shop technician, product assembly or repair technician position and/or similar oil and gas related experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
