Yard Staff - Part-Time

About the role

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers is seeking an energetic, customer-focused Part Time Yard Staff to assist in organizing the Wasilla, Alaska, United States yard for auctions and supporting temporary auction sites in the region.

Responsibilities

• Operate all types of heavy equipment and trucks
• Help set up equipment in the yard for auctions
• Help customers load their equipment purchases, and answer their questions related to the yard
• Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety

Requirements

• Experience operating heavy machinery
• Able to operate a large 36,000 lbs forklift (asset)
• Good spoken and written English
• Good computer skills and ability to learn new programs quickly
• A track-record of working safely, and helping others work safely, too
• Ability to relate well with customers and team members
• Organized, can handle lots of tasks at once, and have a high level of attention to detail
• Likely to work hard, but still enjoy the job
• Passionate about actively supporting the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety

What you bring

• Valid, clean driver’s license
• Ability to climb on, off, and under large equipment and trucks
• Willingness to work outside year-round, regardless of weather conditions
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends, at both onsite and offsite auction sales
• Expectation to work extra hours for 2-3 weeks before, during, and after each sale
• Willingness to travel as required to other auction sites within the region
