Yard Spotter

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe and efficient movement of trailers to and from dock doors
• Communicate all movements to Shipping lead
• Safely and effectively operate a hydraulic fifth wheel and TADC with 53’ dry van
• Move trailers in and out of dock doors for loading and unloading
• Climb in and out of tractor to hook and unhook trailers
• Ensure trailers are clean and free of debris before putting to dock
• Adhere to all company policies
• Adhere to all State, local, and Federal laws
• Ensure load is secured before dropping trailer
• Communicate all issues related to the yard operations to Manager on duty
• Ensure that all appropriate asset repairs are noted and corrected prior to preloading assets
• Perform a daily shift communication transition prior to the start of the shift

Requirements

Physical ability to repeatedly climb in and out of tractor to hook and unhook trailers
