Yard Jockey

About the role

The Yard Jockey supports the movement of trailers to support the needs of the warehouse in sorting and processing material for shipment or storage. Yard Jockeys are responsible for timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized, clean yard to support efficient operations.
• Safely operate a yard truck within site speed limits.
• Perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance.
• Afford assistance with refueling, minor repairs, and equipment upkeep.
• Support operations and serve as a backup when needed to ensure workflow efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in trailer spotting and relocation using a yard truck (Required)
• Other Physical Requirements: Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 40 pounds. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
