Yard Hand Operator

Duties/Responsibilities

• Move boats using tractors and marina forklifts.
• Absorb boats during the off-season.
• Transport trailered boats using pick-up trucks to other locations.
• Inspect heavy equipment for damages.
• Remain up to date on OSHA and company guidelines and ensure they are being followed at the marina.
• Keep up to date on all heavy marina equipment certifications.
• Report all equipment damages, accidents, and problems to the Marina Manager.
• Clean boats according to company standards and/or client specifications, which may include performing detail inspections, thoroughly washing, buffing, and waxing exteriors, vacuuming, steaming, and deodorizing interiors.
• Operate steamers, hoses, vacuums, and other equipment to meet service expectations.
• Use cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to maintain and enhance the appearance of boats.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience using heavy equipment.
• Minimum of High School degree or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s license, required.
• Clean driving record, required.
• Experience using SpeedyDock, preferred.
• Marina Forklift experience, preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Thrives in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions.

Job Type

• Full-time - year round.

Pay

• $18-$24 per hour, based on experience.
