Yard Driver (Spotter)

Compensation

• $23.50 per hour

Sunday – Thursday, 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM

About the Role

• Perform a complete safety and mechanical check of the yard truck and trailers prior to movement
• Operate the yard truck to move trailers, including: backing up to trailers and making fifth wheel connections; raising and lowering landing gear; installing and removing wheel chocks; positioning trailers in designated dock or yard locations
• Safely disconnect trailers and secure equipment after placement
• Operate a forklift to assist with cross-dock loads as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including general housekeeping duties

Development Opportunity

After 90 days, Ace may offer CDL School opportunities to qualified candidates based on performance and interest. Dock to Driver Program: Ace will pay for your CDL License and Training to provide a career path transition to a Driver position.

Requirements

• Commitment to safety, including proper use of PPE, safe operation of equipment, and safe lifting techniques
• Active participation in maintaining a strong safety culture
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours
• CDL (Class A) preferred
• Hazmat endorsement preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience driving tractor/trailer combinations
• Knowledge of DOT regulations on equipment standards and inspections
