Yard Driver (CDL Class A)
About the role
Kemps Dairy is seeking dependable Full-Time CDL-A Yard Truck Drivers to manage vehicle parking, yard, or docking areas. Responsibilities include moving, positioning, or parking trucks and trailers for shipping and receiving, transporting trucks and trailers for repairs, operating wash bays, and maintaining yard cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Maintain yard cleanliness and orderliness
- Move, position, or park trucks and trailers for shipping and receiving
- Transport trucks and trailers for repairs according to policies and procedures and safety protocols
- Operate wash bay using all necessary equipment to clean tractors and trailers
- Cover shifts for other Yard Drivers when they are on vacation
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Tractor/trailer experience within the last five years preferred
- Meet minimum age requirements
- Meet all DOT requirements
- Meet Dairy Farmers of America Motor Vehicle Record requirements
- Current CDL (Class A) license in state of residence; current tanker endorsement required
Qualifications
- Understanding of DOT transportation regulations related to lawful operation
- Able to work safely and recognize sudden hazards and adjust accordingly
- Able to use computers and technology needed for the job
- Skills with math sufficient to calculate load size
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Able to interact positively and work effectively with others
- Able to be proactive in seeking solutions, taking appropriate steps for problem-solving
- Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
- Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
- Able to interpret and apply company policies
- Able to adapt and manage to change effectively
- Able to perform task and duties with limited supervision
- Able to follow through on day-to-day responsibilities
- Able to be punctual

Pay
$29.09 per hour
Schedule
Monday: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Tuesday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Tractor/trailer experience within the last five years preferred
