Yard Driver CDL

About the Role

As a Yard Driver, you will maintain yard organization and safely spot trailers at dock doors and throughout the yard. CDL-licensed Yard Drivers may also move trailers to offsite locations and neighboring distribution centers. You will update trailer moves or any yard activity via a hand-held device.

Responsibilities

• Perform general warehouse tasks as needed (10% of role).
• Conduct daily inspections on yard equipment; drive yard trucks and spot trailers at designated locations (80% of role).
• Ensure yard accuracy by leveraging the Yard Management System.

Requirements

• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid, active Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Ability to load and unload heavy items.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience.

Physical Requirements

• Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Working Conditions

• Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort (e.g., dust, fumes, or odors).
• Travel between locations is required.
