Responsibilities

• Safely operate spotter trucks to move trailers to and from dock doors, loading areas, and storage locations within the yard, hooking and unhooking trailers
• Keep the yard clean and organized, ensuring that trailers are parked in designated areas and that there is a clear path for movement
• Follow all CHEP and regulatory safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to traffic laws within the yard
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of yard trucks and trailers to ensure they are in safe operating condition, reporting any defects or maintenance needs
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, including the location, time, and any issues encountered
• Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, loaders, and shipping and receiving clerks to ensure trailers are in the correct locations at the right times
• Perform additional tasks as directed by management
• Ability to lift/carry up to 78lbs
• Push/pull items with a maximum force of 34 lbs/feet

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must have a valid driver's license
• At least six months of yard driver experience in a vehicle of similar size and weight
• Proficiency in backing trailers into dock doors and parking slips
• Ability to climb in and out of the spotter truck numerous times per day, hooking and unhooking trailers
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the trailer yard through daily yard audits

Preferred Skills

• Commercial driving experience
• Forklift experience

Pay and Schedule

• 2nd shift Monday-Thursday 6PM-4:45AM (overtime Friday/weekend)
• Pay $20/hour
