Yard Attendant

Responsibilities

• Receives/releases (checks-in/checks-out) consigned equipment for auction
• Uses an auction listing to line up equipment for display prior to auction
• Drives/operates heavy and light equipment
• Performs facility inspections (per checklists) and provides housekeeping or maintenance services as necessary
• Performs basic maintenance on RBA owned equipment
• Manages keys for equipment
• Operates forklift to load/unload stationary row equipment
• Boosts equipment
• Basic assembly of equipment i.e. dozer blades, etc.
• Checks fluid and fuel levels on equipment
• Sets out signage, flagging, and trash receptacles for auction day
• Drives sound truck
• Holds ‘This item for sale sign’ (stick person)
• Places operators in rolling stock
• Parks sold equipment on the ramp
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• All candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent).
• Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle as required for job duties.
• An upbeat demeanor to ensure every customer interaction is positive is a must!
• If you know about cars, or have general mechanical knowledge, you'll fit in great.
• Teamwork is incredibly important to our success!
• While it is not required, it would be great if you have:
• Candidates with basic automotive repair skills or experience in the rental or construction area have found this role to be an exceptionally great fit.
• Experience in the equipment rental or construction industry and/or related field preferred

• Ability to apply appropriate use of personal protective equipment (i.e., safety gloves, safety glasses)
• Ability to avoid accidents by recognizing potentially unsafe situations and responding appropriately when accidents occur
• Ability to follow appropriate industry-specific regulations related to the handling of hazardous materials
• Ability to constantly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 100 lbs
• Ability to constantly reach outward, handle and finger objects, stand, walk, and sit
• Ability to frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and crawl
• Must remain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles operated in their work area
