What You'll Do
The Yard Associate II – Stacker is responsible for safely staging, stacking, banding, and preparing finished building products for storage, shipment, and delivery. This position plays a key role in supporting production and yard operations by ensuring completed products are accurately organized, properly secured, and ready for efficient transportation. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and physically capable of performing repetitive material handling tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing and outdoor yard environment.
Material Handling & Product Staging
- Band, secure, stack, and stage finished trusses, wall panels, and other building components for storage and shipment
- Organize completed products in designated yard locations according to operational requirements
- Prepare finished products for loading by verifying proper packaging, labeling, and load readiness
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using forklifts and other approved material handling equipment
- Inspect finished products for damage, proper banding, and shipment readiness before transfer or loading
Equipment Operation
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company procedures
- Maintain forklift certification or successfully complete certification requirements
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Follow established equipment operating procedures and safe lifting practices
Yard Operations
- Maintain organized staging areas, storage locations, and yard workspaces
- Assist with movement of finished products between production, storage, and shipping areas
- Support efficient product flow to minimize delays and maximize yard productivity
- Communicate effectively with production, shipping, delivery, and yard personnel to ensure efficient workflow
- Assist with inventory organization and finished product tracking as needed
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and PPE standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Assist with housekeeping activities, including removal of debris and maintaining clean staging and storage areas
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged products, or operational concerns immediately
- Promote a safety-first culture through consistent safe work practices
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with production, shipping, warehouse, and yard personnel to support daily operational goals
- Support efficient communication between production and yard operations
- Maintain dependable attendance and contribute to a positive team environment
- Assist with additional yard and operational duties as assigned

- Familiarity with building materials and yard operations
- Experience working in outdoor industrial environments preferred
Work Environment
- Work is performed primarily in outdoor yard and manufacturing environments
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and seasonal elements
- Frequent exposure to forklifts, machinery, dust, and building materials
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds using safe lifting techniques or mechanical assistance
- Ability to safely climb on and off forklifts and other equipment
- May require overtime or weekend work based on production and operational needs
