Yard Associate

About the role

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Porter / Yard Worker to join our team. The Yard Associate is responsible for stationing and retrieving equipment on the location's property, maintaining a written maintenance schedule, and servicing equipment as necessary to ensure it meets all set specifications. The role also involves inspecting equipment prior to and after rental to document any lost and/or damaged items.

Responsibilities

• Station and retrieve equipment on the property
• Maintain a written maintenance schedule for equipment
• Service equipment to ensure it meets specifications
• Inspect equipment before and after rental to document condition
• Perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more
• Work indoors and outdoors as required by the job

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred
• Some experience and/or training in repair of mechanical equipment preferred
• General mechanical aptitude and safety focus
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers (written and oral)
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

Pay

Base pay range: $17.75 - $22.55 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
