Yard Associate

About the Role

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Porter / Yard Worker (Yard Associate) responsible for stationing and retrieving equipment on the location’s property, maintaining a written maintenance schedule, servicing equipment as needed, and inspecting equipment before and after rental to document any loss or damage.

Responsibilities

• Station and retrieve equipment on the property.
• Maintain a written maintenance schedule.
• Service equipment to ensure it meets specifications.
• Inspect equipment prior to and after rental, documenting lost or damaged items.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required day‑to‑day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred.
• Some experience or training in mechanical equipment repair preferred.
• Physical ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more; work indoors and outdoors as needed.

Skills

• Effective written and oral communication with customers.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
• General mechanical aptitude and safety focus.
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location.

Pay

Base Pay Range: $19.85 – $27.30 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.
