Yard Associate

About the role
This full‑time, direct‑hire position involves handling incoming and outgoing shipments, inspecting products, operating delivery vehicles, and maintaining a safe, orderly facility. The role may also include occasional assistance on local job sites for building, tearing down structures, and loading trucks.
Responsibilities
- Check incoming and outgoing shipments physically for defects and accuracy
- Pull, pack, and ship finished goods
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate delivery vehicles
- Inspect machinery to determine repair needs and perform regular maintenance
- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned locations
- Pull orders from shelves and secure them onto pallets
- Communicate with managers to identify equipment needing maintenance
- Ensure appropriate safety measures are followed
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment at the end of each shift
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
- Occasionally assist on local job‑sites (building, tearing down structures, loading trucks)
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Bi‑lingual in Spanish and English (preferred)
- Familiarity with basic hand tools
- Attention to detail and ability to work with industrial equipment
- Ability to work overtime occasionally
- Ability to read and understand safety instructions
- Forklift experience and license (preferred; willing to complete training)
- Experience loading and unloading trucks (flat‑beds and/or trailers) preferred
- Ability to stand continuously for long periods
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 75 lb
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift license (preferred)
