XRAY Technologist - PRN
Summary/Objective
Colorado Springs Imaging is seeking a PRN X-Ray Technologist to support two locations in Colorado Springs.
Essential Functions
- Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
- Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent.
- Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
- Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
- Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient's condition changes at any time.
- Transfers images to other locations as needed.
- Captures scan protocols with Radiologist.
- Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
- Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

This position has no supervision responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.
Physical Demands
- Exercises up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Uses hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
- Talks and hears.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications/Experience: Two plus years’ experience in X-Ray - preferred
- Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
- Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
- Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
- Strong communication skills & professional demeanor
- Education/Certifications: Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program, Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, Registry in Radiography (R), Current license from state medical board (if applicable), Current CPR certification
