About the role
AFC Urgent Care of Louisville is seeking a highly motivated X-ray Tech (LSRT/RT) for a full-time position. This role includes performing medical assisting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Greet patient, ensure they remove all jewelry and metal objects, wear appropriate gown, and confirm pregnancy status.
- Prepare and position patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views of the body.
- Explain procedures to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and order/review supplies.
- Process images, review for quality control, and prepare them for reading.
- Utilize both digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and policies.
- Aid provider with prescribed patient treatments and report malfunctions.
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment.
- Report potentially unsafe conditions to management.
- Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved techniques.
- Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage difficult and emotional customer situations with an emphasis on customer service.
- Document all activities and observations.
- Respond to life-saving situations based on standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.
- Ensure patient immunizations are appropriate, well documented, and administered using approved techniques.
- Conduct provider referrals and service pre-certifications as needed.
- Document past medical history assessments of patients.
- Rotate among various clinical services such as lab, medical assistant, and front desk.
- Prepare rooms, sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
- Ensure work area is neat and clean, fully stocked, and laundry items are laundered and put away.
- Manage difficult or emotional customer situations, respond promptly to customer needs.
- Treat people with respect, inspire trust of others, work with integrity, and uphold organizational values.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as LSRT/RT preferred.
- Experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift, including weekends.
- Proactive, assertive, and interested in furthering medical knowledge.

Pay & Schedule
- Competitive salary
- Open clinic hours: Monday-Friday 8-8 and Saturday-Sunday 8-5
- Approximately 4 weekend days per month required
