XR Training Center Lab Manager

About the role

The XR Training Center Lab Manager Associate I - Lab Support position supports the delivery of immersive VR/AR training at UST's Extended Reality (XR) Training Centers in Austin, TX. This role involves facilitating and supporting XR training sessions, maintaining training equipment, and coordinating center operations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and support XR training sessions, providing onboarding, safety guidance, and basic XR usage instructions.
• Ensure learners can complete assigned training modules during each session.
• Set up training rooms, manage equipment checkout, and maintain an orderly learning environment.
• Troubleshoot hardware or connectivity issues as they arise.
• Install new XR software builds and training modules, validate installations, and report bugs or performance issues.
• Prepare XR training spaces, ensuring equipment and layouts meet operational needs.
• Care for the XR devices, including cleaning, charging, and monitoring inventory.
• Coordinate schedules with local and global training stakeholders.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and user experience in training centers.
• Aid with tracking attendance, completions, and general training throughput when needed.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with VR/AR hardware installation (e.g., Quest, Vive, or similar platforms).
• Confidence in hosting and supporting group training sessions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to install/test software builds.
• Excellent communication skills and professionalism when interacting with learners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating training labs, AV rooms, tech centers, demo studios or similar environments.
• Familiarity with VR/AR content deployment or device fleet management tools.
• Ability to support training operations across multiple shifts.
• Basic experience with networking, PC configuration, or Windows administration (bonus).
