Xplore Instructional Assistant - Part Time - Community Education
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Xplore program manager
- Provide quality instructional and recreational activities
- Create a nurturing and safe environment for K-6th children
- Utilize a variety of developmentally appropriate activities for K-6th children
- Affords other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in working with children

- Must be able to manage small groups of children
- Work well with children, teachers, and parents
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with children, staff, district personnel at all levels and parents; maintain confidentiality
- Able to assist the Xplore Program Manager with the implementation of age appropriate activities for kindergarten through 6th grade children
- Able to perform a variety of duties (clerical, cleaning, ect) in support of the Xplore program
- Able to work under the supervision of a lead teacher or program coordinator, often as part of a team
- Able to help students at desks or during activities requiring stooping, bending, kneeling
- Able to occasionally move supplies, educational materials, or assist students from 25-50lbs
Performance Pay
New Hire Experience: 1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum
