Responsibilities
- Prepares and organizes specific equipment and sterile tray for each procedure.
- Aids procedure room team with the positioning and preparation of patient monitoring.
- Calibrates and tests transducers for accurate pressure readings.
- Aids physicians throughout diagnostic, and/or all interventional procedures.
- Loads and operates power injector and associated sterile support equipment.
- Maneuvers the table controls for physicians, as requested.
- Radiology Technologist (RT) only maneuvers fluoroscopy as requested.
- Calibrates hemodynamic monitoring equipment and obtains, calculates, and analyzes all hemodynamic data assembled during the procedure, including computerized ventriculography data and valve area.
- Calculates and records cardiac output and oximetry readings.
- Utilizes and maintains the required standards for the operation of digital cine technologies including protocols for storage and retrieval of patient's images and hemodynamic records.
- Aids with vascular access, sheath removal and hemostatic closure devices while maintaining hemostasis at the access site.
- Aids in management of inventory control, maintenance of PAR levels and preparation of required equipment for each procedure.
- Adheres to practice requirements related to Clinical Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS).
- Operates equipment safely: Prepares and cares for equipment, returns supplies as necessary.
- Participates in the catheterization lab on call responsibilities as per the organizational policy and procedure.
- Applies radial access banding while maintaining hemostasis at the access site.
- Recognizes and interprets all cardiac arrhythmias.
- Aids in maintenance, calibration and routine periodic evaluation of all diagnostic and technical equipment.
- Lifts a minimum of 40 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs. and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.).

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technologist program or radiologic technologist program or graduate of an applied science program.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platform.
- Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Associates or Bachelors Degree in health science field. Licensed special procedures Radiologic Technologist. Prior experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory, invasive procedure area or special procedures radiology. Hemodynamic monitoring and sterile operative techniques.
