About the role

Greet patient, ensure they remove all jewelry and metal objects, wear appropriate medical gown, and confirm pregnancy status.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adjust immobilization devices for optimal views as requested by the physician.
  • Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patient and staff.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment and ensure supplies are ordered and stocked.
  • Process and review images for proper identification and quality control.
  • Utilize both digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, adhering to approved radiology techniques and AFC/Doctors Express policies.
  • Aid physician with prescribed patient treatments and contact additional physicians for second opinions.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and arrange for repairs on equipment.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Observe safety and security procedures, promoting a safe and pleasant work environment.
  • Document findings accurately and report potentially unsafe conditions to management.
  • Regularly attend work to ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Manage difficult or emotional customer situations, responding promptly to customer needs.
  • Treat people with respect, inspire trust, work with integrity, and uphold organizational values.
  • Act as Medical Receptionist if needed.
  • Adapt to changes in work environment and manage competing demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Sciences.
  • Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT) license in Texas.
  • Previous medical clerical experience preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge, such as Microsoft Office.
  • Accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Positive customer service skills.
