About the Role

Lakeville Wyldlife (middle school students) is seeking a part-time Team Leader to support our ministry in the Burnsville, Lakeville, Rosemount, and Farmington communities. This role involves overseeing training and retaining leaders, coordinating Wyldlife club, and leading Wyldlife camp trips. The position requires 10-15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with volunteer leaders on a regular basis.
  • Learn principles of leadership and recruitment to build a leadership team that reflects the makeup of the community.
  • Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping to other leaders.
  • Assist in training leaders and committee on effective teamwork.
  • Train and lead a team in developing a yearly ministry strategy.
  • Raise financial support as directed and maintain good donor care practices.
  • Communicate ministry updates and progress to personal donor partners.
  • Plan and execute area fundraising events under the direction of an area supervisor.
  • Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
  • Lead a team to plan and implement a regular outreach meeting with excellence.
  • Lead Campaigners meetings with excellence as assigned by the area director.
  • Lead a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy for the ministry.
  • Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year.
  • Research community and school demographics to assess ministry effectiveness.
  • Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures, maintaining professionalism in office hours, dress, conduct, and time management.
  • Manage finances with stewardship, accountability, and transparency using mission-wide applications.
  • Set yearly ministry and personal goals and objectives; review them regularly.
  • Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors for area records.
  • Provide clear, prompt, appropriate, and professional communication to everyone involved in ministry.
  • Oversee training and retaining leaders for Wyldlife.
  • Coordinate Wyldlife club activities.
  • Lead Wyldlife camp trips.

Requirements

  • Must have completed Core Training — Phase One.
  • Must have 1 or more clubs experience in direct ministry.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
  • Subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith.
  • Be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions as required by the organization.
  • Refrain from conduct and statements that detract from the biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life.
  • Abide by all policies and practices of Young Life, including those related to religious belief or ministry activities.

Qualifications

  • Completion of at least two years as a Staff Associate.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life.
  • Actively engage in training provided by the regional and area directors.
  • Must have completed Leadership I and II as a Staff Associate.

Spiritual Development

  • Maintain a genuine and sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word and the disciplines of personal and corporate prayer.
  • Seek out and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a church community, that lead to a vibrant spiritual life.
  • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that includes time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and Scripture reading.

Schedule

This is a part-time role requiring 10-15 hours per week.
