WS - Student Success & Programs Assistant - FWS

Entry-level position supporting the Center for Student Success. Supervised by Kenzie Coleman. Federal Work-Study funded; 6–10 hours per week during Fall and Spring terms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Learning Lab students with campus resources, basic technology needs, and general support.
  • Provide front-desk coverage: greet visitors, answer phones, take messages, and direct guests.
  • Support daily office operations: copying, typing, mail, errands, materials, bulletin boards, and promotional designs.
  • Assist in planning, promoting, and implementing What’s Up Wednesday (WuW) events with campus partners.
  • Support event logistics: setup, activities, attendance tracking, photography, cleanup, and equipment management.
  • Manage event attendance through Campus Groups and assist with event-related social media content.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve future programming and student engagement.
  • Communicate professionally with diverse students, faculty, staff, and visitors while supporting the Center’s mission.
  • Maintain punctuality, integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with FERPA and University policies.
  • Complete additional duties and special projects supporting the Center and campus programming.

  • General computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, Campus Groups, social media).

Benefits

Pay

$8.75 per hour

Schedule

  • 6–10 hours per week during Fall and Spring terms.
  • Most What’s Up Wednesday events begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m., with approximately one hour of preparation time before the event.
