WS - Career, Vocation, and Leadership Student Associate - FWS

Entry-level position supporting the Center for Career, Vocation and Leadership by mentoring students and assisting with programming. Ideal for upper-division students interested in career development, leadership, and peer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Meet individually with first- and second-year students to assist in career exploration and leadership development
• Assist in designing and implementing Center programming, including evening or weekend activities
• Direct student small group sessions for career exploration and leadership development
• Act as first point of contact for visitors and callers, explaining the Center’s mission and services
• Contribute to projects such as data analysis, social media and website development, and resource creation
• Work independently and efficiently, utilizing Center resources
• Prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work inclusively in a diverse setting
• Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, communicate schedule changes in advance, and wear appropriate attire
• Use MS Word, Excel, and a multi-line phone system; compile data using software
• Knowledge of effective use of social media platforms for marketing is recommended

Qualifications

• Preferred: Attention to detail, strong active listening abilities, public speaking, written and verbal communication, customer-focused attitude, willingness to learn
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media platforms, new technology
• Familiarity with Handshake and Pathway U (training provided)

Schedule

Varies based on student and supervisor availability; typically Monday–Thursday 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM and Friday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Pay

$8.75/hour
