Job Summary
The Sportsbook Writer is responsible for providing excellent guest service, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide Old-World Hospitality and Charm to guests
- Explain and educate guests about sports wagering and related information
- Sign on to working stations, key in betting information, collect payment, print tickets, and give patrons their tickets
- Manage and update sports wagering kiosks
- Maintain and balance bank drawers
- Handle guest relations and minor disputes
- Communicate irregularities in customer play to supervisors
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Support and promote superior customer service
- Handle customer concerns and requests professionally
- Maintain confidentiality of guest and company information
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced casino environment with low lighting, noise, and multiple distractions
- Ability to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to perform physical tasks in various work areas
- Professionalism and ability to handle high levels of stress
- Comprehensive math skills
Education and Experience
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Interest in sports and related activities
- Three months of experience in Sportsbook operations as a Sportsbook Writer or six months of casino experience preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Attend required training sessions
- Obtain required licenses
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations
- Monitor and prevent underage gambling and alcohol/tobacco purchases
- Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures
- Report any acts of wrongdoing
Pay Range
$25.29 - $28.10/hour
