Job Summary

The Sportsbook Writer is responsible for providing excellent guest service, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide Old-World Hospitality and Charm to guests
• Explain and educate guests about sports wagering and related information
• Sign on to working stations, key in betting information, collect payment, print tickets, and give patrons their tickets
• Manage and update sports wagering kiosks
• Maintain and balance bank drawers
• Handle guest relations and minor disputes
• Communicate irregularities in customer play to supervisors
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Support and promote superior customer service
• Handle customer concerns and requests professionally
• Maintain confidentiality of guest and company information

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods
• Ability to work in a fast-paced casino environment with low lighting, noise, and multiple distractions
• Ability to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
• Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to perform physical tasks in various work areas
• Professionalism and ability to handle high levels of stress
• Comprehensive math skills

Education and Experience

• Minimum age of 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Interest in sports and related activities
• Three months of experience in Sportsbook operations as a Sportsbook Writer or six months of casino experience preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Attend required training sessions
• Obtain required licenses
• Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations
• Monitor and prevent underage gambling and alcohol/tobacco purchases
• Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures
• Report any acts of wrongdoing

Pay Range

$25.29 - $28.10/hour
