About the Role
Apex Legends is seeking a Writer II to join our small, agile team. We are looking for an experienced writer who is a great collaborator and problem solver, and doesn't shy away from asking for help when needed. In this role, you will be responsible for writing Legend dialogue, in-game text, social media content, and other pieces as needed. You should be able to write compelling stories and dialogue that resonate with our players. This is a Temporary Full-Time role located hybrid in Vancouver or Los Angeles-Chatsworth.
Responsibilities
- Write seasonal dialogue, with a solid understanding of matching the voice for all our Legends.
- Work collaboratively with Design, Art, Animation, Marketing, and Audio to create dialogue for upcoming features.
- Take on feedback from the lead writer as part of the dialogue writing process.
- Attend recording sessions and ensure VO sessions deliver on character and context.
- Draft additional written content for in-game implementation, social media channels, and other placements as needed.
- Work as part of a team to brainstorm in-game and social media story ideas. Collaborate closely with other writers, finding ways to build better ideas together, without ego.
- Ensure all details of your assigned focus areas are tracked and delivered on time, at quality.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working as a writer for games, ideally in a live service environment.
- A strong understanding of character-led storytelling, story building, and video games as a story-telling medium.
- Familiarity with the Apex and Titanfall universe is a major asset.
Pay
British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): $92,900 - $129,200 CAD
California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. San Francisco): $104,400 - $157,400 USD
