About the role
We are looking for talented Writers to join the #1 national cable news program, Fox & Friends and Fox & Friends First. You will craft creative and conversational copy to engage viewers, distinguish between attention-grabbing headlines and buried leads, and respond quickly to breaking news. The role involves working directly with reporters and correspondents.
Responsibilities
- Write VOs, VO/SOTs, and reporter stories under tight deadline pressure
- Create graphics and edit video via your desktop
- Communicate critical story information with producers and managers
- Operate as a team player
- Pitch story ideas
- Conduct thorough research on top stories
Requirements
- Major market experience
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
- Flexibility to work both weekend and weekday overnight hours
- Ability to write creatively for morning television
- Thorough knowledge of current events, US politics, geopolitics, foreign policy, and history
- Ability to manage breaking news
- Demonstrated initiative, proactivity, and self-motivation
Pay
The pay rate/range for this role is $60,000.00–70,000.00 annually, with the final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location.
