Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair WRF electrical systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship or three (3) years experience as an electrician.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • EEI MASS test administered.

Nuclear Requirement

  • May be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
  • May be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.

Major Accountabilities

  • Support activities of other WRF teams and external customers to ensure overall team success.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting control systems to find root cause of problem.
  • Minimize the areas of the plant equipment affected and downtime while making repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Work around energized equipment (up to 13.8 kV), hazardous chemicals, temperature extremes, heights and confined spaces.
  • Attend and complete scheduled technical training.

Onsite: Requires work to be performed in the field and/or at an APS facility. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, this may include, but is not limited to, working at a power plant, job site, or in the community.

-Employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours.

-Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified.

-Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
