About the Role

The incumbent will be responsible for directing or assisting in directing a competitive sport program while meeting Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) requirements. The coach serves as both a mentor and positive role model for all students.

Responsibilities

• Build positive working relationships with students, school staff, administration, parents, and the community.
• Develop young athletes while fostering a strong, positive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes good sportsmanship and academic excellence.
• Mentor, train, and educate athletes in sport-specific skills and techniques.
• Promote excellence and a winning culture on and off the court or field.
• Train and educate student athletes in safety and injury prevention.
• Ensure compliance with UHSAA requirements and regulations.
• Maintain a program with strong traditions and collaborate with an involved community.

Requirements

• Cleared background check through Granite School District (cost covered by the district).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of multiple trainings and certifications, including anti-bullying/hazing training, concussion training, and First Aid/CPR certification.

Skills

• Ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Skill in developing athletes and fostering a competitive yet respectful team culture.
• Knowledge of UHSAA regulations and safety protocols.
• Experience maintaining program traditions and community engagement.
