About the role
The Wrangler position at CRISTA Camps involves providing guests with a safe, fun, and meaningful horsemanship experience through various activities. This includes teaching basic safety and "how to ride" rules, leading and supervising trail rides, caring for and feeding the horses, maintaining cleanliness in the arena and barn, and assisting in other program areas.
Responsibilities
- Teach basic safety and "how to ride" rules as assigned.
- Rotate through Western, English and Trailride horsemanship classes.
- Lead and supervise trail rides.
- Share responsibility for care and feeding of horses.
- Responsible for up-keep of arena and barn areas.
- Afford assistance in other program areas assigned by the Horsemanship Coordinator.
- Ride horses and/or drive wagons.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Christ-centered belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
- A committed Christian with a growing personal walk with God, evidenced through daily spiritual practices.
- Prayfully seeks God's will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA.
- Engages CRISTA's ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals, and other spiritual practices.
- Supports CRISTA's Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
- Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
Experience
- At least one year of experience working with youth or adults.
Licenses/Certifications
- American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification or equivalent.
- CHA Instructor Certification.
