About the role
The Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) at Sentara RMH Medical Center is a specialized healthcare professional responsible for providing expert care to patients with complex wounds, ostomies, and continence issues.
Responsibilities
- Assess and manage wound care needs, including debridement, dressing changes, and patient education
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding ostomy management, continence issues, and wound care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
- Document patient progress and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Participate in ongoing education and training related to wound care, ostomy, and continence care
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (RN)
- Certification as a Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) from the Wound, Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB)
- 3 years of acute care nursing experience
- Experience with wound care (preferred)
- Experience with patient education (preferred)
Qualifications
- Current Virginia RN license
- Current BLS certification

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
