Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history, examination, and wound evaluation
- Develop and manage individualized wound care treatment plans
- Perform debridement, dressing changes, and apply advanced wound therapies (negative pressure, skin substitutes, etc.)
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies related to wound healing (labs, imaging, vascular studies)
- Prescribe medications and order appropriate treatments per scope of practice and protocols
- Provide patient and caregiver education on wound prevention and self-care
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff for coordinated care
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and clinical education initiatives
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of California
- National Board Certification (NCCPA, AANP, or ANCC)
- Current DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in wound care, dermatology, or vascular medicine
- Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWS, or equivalent) preferred
- Strong diagnostic, procedural, and communication skills
- Experience with EMR systems and multidisciplinary collaboration
