Wound Care RN PRN

About the role

As a Registered Nurse in the Wound Care PRN position at HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with department requirements and state/specialty standards of practice. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, providing personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage,” and act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers to uphold the organization's vision, mission, and values.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• No travel required.
