About the Role
A Wound Care Registered Nurse responsible for comprehensive wound assessments, treatment planning, and patient education.
Responsibilities
- Perform wound management for diverse patient populations
- Develop skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown
- Serve as a resource for physicians and staff
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives
- Coordinate patient care, including goals, treatment implementation, evaluation, and outcomes
- Conduct wound assessments and manage acute and chronic wounds
- Educate patients, families, and staff
- Develop preventive skin care programs
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a BSN
- Current RN licensure
- At least two years of medical/surgical or rehabilitation nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- CWOCN or CWCN certification preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, wound management principles, and skin prevention strategies
