About the role

RUSH Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. Wound Care Nurses (RNs) play a central role in delivering compassionate, excellent treatment throughout the recovery process.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor skin preservation strategies.
  • Affirm all wound and skin care protocols approved by the medical staff.
  • Organize multidisciplinary wound and skin rounds on a weekly basis for high-risk patients and those with pressure ulcers and other significant wounds.
  • Provide hands-on wound care for all difficult and non-healing wounds.
  • Serve as a resource to all hospital staff on all issues related to wound and skin care.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • AD (Associate's degree in Nursing) required.
  • One (1) year of related experience required.
  • Valid State RN License.
  • Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
  • Must complete wound care training in the first 90 days in the role.

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred.

Pay

  • $46.58 - $62 per hour, based on experience.
