Ministry Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in planning, organizing, developing, and evaluating the overall worship ministry in cooperation with the Senior Pastor.
- Aid the Senior Pastor in planning all worship services, including Sunday services, special services, revivals, mission conferences, and other church-wide events.
- Lead and coordinate all worship and music ministries, working alongside volunteer leaders in preschool, children’s, student, and adult ministries.
- Direct, develop, disciple, and encourage worship teams, musicians, vocalists, and other volunteers serving in the worship ministry.
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers for the worship ministry.
- Establish goals, vision, and organization for the worship ministry that support the overall mission of Southside Baptist Church.
- Oversee the care, maintenance, and proper use of musical instruments, audio equipment, and related worship resources.
- Prepare and administer the annual worship ministry budget in cooperation with the Budget Committee.
Education Ministry
- Assist the Senior Pastor in strengthening the church’s educational ministries by training, encouraging, and equipping ministry leaders and volunteers.
- Provide leadership and support for the church’s education ministries as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Pastoral Ministry
- Assist the Senior Pastor in providing pastoral care through hospital visitation, home visits, counseling, and other ministry opportunities.
- Participate faithfully in the church’s visitation, outreach, and intentional evangelism efforts.
- Preach, teach, and lead Bible studies, Small Groups, or worship services as requested by the Senior Pastor.
- Carry out weddings, funerals, and other pastoral ministries as requested.
- Participate in ongoing visitation to senior adults, nursing homes, hospitals, and homebound members.
- Assist the Senior Pastor in all areas of pastoral ministry as requested.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Aid with the daily administrative responsibilities of the church office and ministry operations.
- Coordinate office hours and scheduled time off in consultation with the Senior Pastor.
- Work cooperatively with church staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers to accomplish the mission and vision of Southside Baptist Church.
Personal Expectations
- Demonstrate a growing and consistent walk with Jesus Christ through personal Bible study, prayer, and spiritual maturity.
- Be a faithful member and steward of Southside Baptist Church, including faithful financial giving and Christlike conduct.
- Support and uphold the doctrine, mission, vision, and leadership of Southside Baptist Church in both public and private life.
Ministry Time Allocation
Worship Ministry: 60%
Education Ministry: 40%
