Worship Director

About the role

Mission Northwest Search Services is conducting a confidential search for a growing evangelical church in the greater Seattle/South King County area seeking its next Part‑Time Worship Director. The role involves leading a blended worship style that incorporates contemporary worship songs, hymns, and updated hymn arrangements, with an emphasis on biblical grounding, accessibility, spiritual meaning, and musical excellence rather than performance.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with pastoral leadership to plan and lead Sunday worship
• Lead musicians and vocalists
• Thoughtfully introduce new music
• Help cultivate an environment where people participate in worship rather than simply watch it
• Shepherd the worship team relationally and spiritually, developing a healthy ministry culture alongside strong musical execution

Requirements

• Committed follower of Jesus Christ and willing to serve in alignment with the church's statement of faith, theological convictions, and ministry‑leadership expectations

Qualifications

• Approximately three or more years of worship‑leadership experience preferred (but not required)
• Experience leading worship in youth ministry, college ministry, church ministry, or another meaningful ministry context will be considered
• Students, recent graduates, emerging leaders, and bivocational candidates are welcome to apply

Skills

• Lead congregational worship vocally with confidence and warmth
• Play guitar or keyboard while leading
• Effectively direct a band and vocal team
• Plan worship services collaboratively with pastoral leadership
• Select songs with strong biblical and theological discernment
• Engage the room rather than simply perform the music
• Develop meaningful relationships with worship‑team members
• Communicate reliably and lead volunteers well
• Exercise appropriate Spirit‑sensitive discernment during worship
• Bring humility, integrity, spiritual maturity, and a servant's heart to ministry
• Ability to play multiple instruments
• Songwriting experience
• Experience recruiting or developing musicians
• Existing musical relationships
• Pastoral or shepherding orientation toward volunteers

Pay

Approximately $25 per hour

Schedule

Approximately 10 hours per week
