World Medical Mission - Laboratory & Biomedical Technology

About the role

World Medical Mission is currently seeking to hire on-call Laboratory and Biomedical Technicians to deploy internationally 1-2 times a year for 1-2 weeks at a time in support of surgical teams and mission hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Perform set-ups, repairs, and installations
• Participate in training and teaching opportunities
• Receive compensation for time deployed
• All costs associated with service will be covered

Requirements

• Maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Able to serve 1-2 times per year on pre-planned trips lasting 1-2 weeks
• Willingness to work in low-resource medical settings in developing nations
• Highly detail-oriented in all areas of work

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Laboratory Technician preferred
• Education and/or Experience Required:
  • Laboratory Technician - Two years of experience as a Laboratory Technician preferred, Degree or certification as a Laboratory Technician from an accredited school or training program is preferred, Familiarity with laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Biomedical Technician - Minimum of an Associate degree in biomedical technology or related field preferred, Two years of experience in a biomedical technological or related field required, Biomedical or related experience within the last five years required, Working knowledge/experience with a variety of medical equipment strongly preferred, Knowledge of IT systems is preferred

Skills
