World Languages Education Teaching Faculty
Department: School of Education / Curriculum and Instruction · Academic Staff, Regular, Teaching Faculty II · 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment (50%–100% FTE, adjustable based on program needs and budget)
About the role
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison invites applications for a World Languages Teaching Faculty position within our innovative secondary teacher preparation program. Housed in a top‑ranked department known for its research‑based initial educator licensing, our program engages teacher candidates through practice‑based field experiences in local classrooms and community‑based educational spaces. As our campus sits on ancestral Ho‑Chunk land—a place known as Teejop since time immemorial—we respect the inherent sovereignty of the 12 First Nations in Wisconsin. Our teacher education programs actively integrate and honor these legacies of resistance and resilience as part of our ongoing commitment to shaping an equitable educational future. We are seeking a dynamic educator to provide leadership for our World Language Education (WLE) program and mentor pre‑service candidates across a range of target languages. The core portfolio centers on World Language Education; appointments exceeding 50% FTE will include teaching additional courses across the teacher education program that align with the candidate’s professional expertise and program needs.
