World Language Teacher -- Swan's Island
Swan’s Island School is opening in August 2026 and is seeking a part-time World Language teacher. A world language teaching endorsement is preferred.
About the role
The school is located on an unbridged island with daily ferry service from Mount Desert Island. The position is part-time and seeks a teacher who can contribute to the unique educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach World Language classes to students in grades K-5
- Collaborate with other teachers to develop and implement curriculum
- Support students' social and emotional development
- Participate in professional development opportunities
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
- A valid teaching certificate
- Experience teaching World Language
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
