Responsibilities

  • Create and implement curriculum in Ethos online learning environments.
  • Help students excel at AP Exams.
  • Maintain regular synchronous sessions (minimum of ten times a semester).
  • Facilitate and grade all assignments in a timely manner (within 24-72 hours).
  • Enter final course grades after consultation with lead faculty and/or program director by Ethos deadline.
  • Maintain regular points of contact with students either individually or in groups to facilitate learning.
  • Communicate regularly with students and their families about classroom activities and student progress.
  • Respond to Ethos emails within one business day.
  • Manage student behavior to ensure every student is fully engaged.
  • Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs.
  • Alert supervisors of drops in students’ grades and/or engagement.
  • Participate in regular required job-embedded professional development courses.
  • Support the mission, vision, and core values of Ethos School.
  • Abide by the guidelines, policies, and procedures of Ethos.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the subject area is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Relevant teaching experience of 3+ years is required, with AP experience in subject area preferred.
  • Experience with reading AP Exams either as Reader or Tablet Leader for College Board is preferred.
  • Previous online teaching experience strongly preferred.
  • A current teaching certificate in Secondary Education is required.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lead classroom and other activities with a heart of Christ and be an example of Christ to our students.
  • Ability to embrace innovation as a tool to teach, engage, and motivate students.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment when interacting with students, other faculty and staff.
  • Passion for online education as an effective model for educating students for the future.
