Responsibilities
- Create and implement curriculum in Ethos online learning environments.
- Help students excel at AP Exams.
- Maintain regular synchronous sessions (minimum of ten times a semester).
- Facilitate and grade all assignments in a timely manner (within 24-72 hours).
- Enter final course grades after consultation with lead faculty and/or program director by Ethos deadline.
- Maintain regular points of contact with students either individually or in groups to facilitate learning.
- Communicate regularly with students and their families about classroom activities and student progress.
- Respond to Ethos emails within one business day.
- Manage student behavior to ensure every student is fully engaged.
- Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs.
- Alert supervisors of drops in students’ grades and/or engagement.
- Participate in regular required job-embedded professional development courses.
- Support the mission, vision, and core values of Ethos School.
- Abide by the guidelines, policies, and procedures of Ethos.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the subject area is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Relevant teaching experience of 3+ years is required, with AP experience in subject area preferred.
- Experience with reading AP Exams either as Reader or Tablet Leader for College Board is preferred.
- Previous online teaching experience strongly preferred.
- A current teaching certificate in Secondary Education is required.

- Ability to demonstrate good judgment when interacting with students, other faculty and staff.
- Passion for online education as an effective model for educating students for the future.
