Workshop Foreman

AgField Services is an experienced provider of end-to-end horticultural management services, specializing in farm development, management, and contract operations for almond orchards and other horticultural assets.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman to lead and run the mechanical operations of our almond orchard business. This role is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our mechanical assets and supporting our farm operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all mechanical workshop operations, including maintenance, repairs, and servicing of farm machinery and equipment.
• Lead a team of mechanics and workshop staff to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks.
• Coordinate with farm management to align workshop activities with operational needs and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and best practices.
• Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies, and liaise with suppliers for procurement.
• Provide training and mentorship to workshop staff to promote skill development and career growth.
• Assist in the planning and execution of farm development projects, including machinery setup and asset redevelopment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Workshop Foreman or similar leadership role in a mechanical or agricultural setting.
• Strong technical expertise in the maintenance and repair of horticultural or agricultural machinery.
• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues under pressure.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
