Industrial Design Workshop Facilitator Position Overview Our client, the innovation packaging team of a global CPG company, is looking for an Industrial Design Workshop Facilitator to conduct a two-day workshop for their packaging and innovation team NEXT week, September 2 and 3. This workshop is onsite at the client's office in Piscataway, NJ. The workshops are all day, roughly 8-4:30.To be considered, you must be fully available to support 8-hour, full-day workshops on September 2nd and 3rd at our client's headquarters in Piscataway, NJ. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and run interactive workshops (empathy, ideation, cocreation, prototyping, and validation) for internal teams and external clients to generate actionable product and packaging concepts.Plan workshop agendas, materials lists, and space layouts; prepare facilitation materials, templates, and rapid prototyping kits.Lead creative exercises and structured methods (e.g., design sprints, journey mapping, sketching sessions, and rapid prototyping) that encourage participation and align stakeholders.Translate workshop outputs into clear next steps: concept sketches, low-fidelity prototypes, documented insights, and prioritized action plans.Collaborate with industrial designers, packaging engineers, brand teams, and consumer insights to ensure technical feasibility and market fit.Develop and maintain a library of workshop tools, templates, and proven activities tailored to CPG and packaging challenges.Manage logistics for in-person workshops, including material procurement, safety procedures, and vendor coordination.Track and report workshop outcomes and impact metrics to stakeholders; iterate on facilitation methods based on feedback.Qualifications5+ years of experience in industrial design, packaging design, or product development with demonstrable experience facilitating workshops.Strong facilitation skills with experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing stakeholder dynamics in in-person settings.Experience applying human-centered design, user research, or consumer insights to inform workshop activities and design decisions.Proven experience in CPG product development and packaging systems, including familiarity with materials, manufacturing constraints, and sustainability considerations.Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to synthesize insights and produce clear documentation and recommendations.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements and timelines.In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
