Workload Automation Engineer (Autosys/Argent)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain job scheduling workflows using Argent Software (Argent Job Scheduler)
• Manage daily batch operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving job failures
• Develop and optimize job dependencies, calendars, triggers, and scheduling logic
• Interface with application, infrastructure, and database teams to coordinate job execution requirements
• Create and maintain scheduling documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards, SLAs, and audit requirements
• Support system upgrades, migrations, and patching activities related to scheduling tools
• Automate manual processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
• Participate in on-call support rotations for production scheduling environments

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall IT experience
• 3+ years of experience working with enterprise job scheduling tools, with direct experience in Argent Software (required)
• Strong understanding of batch processing, workload automation, and job orchestration
• Experience working in Windows, Linux/Unix, or hybrid environments
• Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to support automation
• Experience with database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production environment
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
