About the role
The Worker is seeking a Workforce Expert to support individuals in their employment journey. This role involves guiding, advocating, and cheering on clients as they navigate resources and achieve their career goals.
Responsibilities
- Support clients one-on-one with resumes, mock interviews, job leads, and essential resources like transportation and professional clothing
- Create and follow personalized employment plans aligned with clients' goals
- Provide ongoing encouragement and accountability through regular check-ins
- Build strong relationships with community partners and local employers
- Stay informed about community resources, job opportunities, and social services
- Attend job fairs, networking events, and community meetings
- Use a trauma-informed, person-centered approach that treats every guest with dignity and respect
- Advocate for clients to access the services they need
- Keep accurate documentation, case notes, and outcome tracking
- Audit resources monthly and collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to keep records accurate
- Share one monthly client success story with the Development Team
- Participate in quarterly staff meetings and occasional evening or weekend events
Requirements
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Strong advocacy skills and confidence navigating community resources
- A judgment-free approach and comfort working with diverse populations
- Your own vehicle, valid driver's license, and current insurance/registration
- Flexibility to travel between sites and work occasional evenings/weekends
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Spanish speaking is required
Qualifications
- A BS in Social Work or a related field is preferred (but not required)
- At least 2 years of experience in a related field
- Direct service experience (professional or volunteer) is strongly preferred
