Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the lifecycle of defense files, ensuring accurate docketing and tracking within ProLaw.
- Draft initial written discovery requests, responses, mediation requests, petitions, and settlement packets.
- Review medical records, calculate benefits, and compile high-level file summaries for attorney review.
- Track hearing notices, critical deadlines, and attorney tasks to keep litigation on track.
- Gather medical, FOIA, and personnel records, coordinate IMEs, and assist with deposition prep.
- Coincide with insurance carriers, corporate clients, and injured workers to coordinate updates.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–3 years of specialized workers' compensation legal experience.
- Education: Four-year degree or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Tech Savvy: Confident using ProLaw or similar case management systems, MS Office, and legal AI tools.
- Prior Experience: Prior insurance defense or law firm background is highly valued.
