Workers' Compensation Manager
Under the general direction of the Chief of Medical Services Administration, the Workers’ Compensation Manager oversees all functions of the Qualified Medical Evaluator program in the Medical unit.
Responsibilities
- Establish and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current statutes and regulations.
- Ensure effective delivery of benefits to injured workers.
Qualifications
- The Supervisor II classification is being appropriated for this position. Candidates with Supervisor II eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications for both Supervisor II and Workers’ Compensation Manager.
- Applicants must be either reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility.

Working Conditions
- Located at 1515 Clay Street, Oakland, CA 94612.
- Works in an air-conditioned office with natural and artificial lighting and temperature control.
- Office is equipped with standard office equipment (computers, scanners, copiers, shredders).
- Telework may be approved at the discretion of the Chief of Medical Services Administration.
Pay
$8,715.00 - $9,899.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Schedule
Permanent, full-time position.

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927. Its mission is to improve working conditions for California's wage earners and to advance opportunities for profitable employment in California. DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers. DIR also publishes materials and holds workshops and seminars to promote healthy employment relations, conducts research to improve its programs, and coordinates with other agencies to target egregious violators of labor laws and tax laws in the underground economy.
