A bit about us: We are a California based litigation firm focused on workers' compensation defense. Our attorneys represent employers, carriers, and public entities across the state. Our practice is built on disciplined file management, strategic case handling, and consistent client communication. We operate with a high level of accountability and expect our attorneys to move files forward with purpose. Collaboration is encouraged, but ownership of your caseload is non negotiable.

Attorneys may work hybrid and in-person in the Orange, CA location.

Job Duties

  • Manage full California workers' compensation defense caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Appear before the WCAB for MSCs, Status Conferences, Expedited Hearings, and Trials.
  • Take and defend depositions of applicants, physicians, and expert witnesses.
  • Draft and file Petitions, DORs, Answers, Motions, and Trial Briefs.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery and subpoenas.
  • Develop litigation strategy and evaluate exposure.
  • Negotiate settlements including Compromise and Release and Stipulations with Request for Award.
  • Provide regular status reports and case analysis to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with California Labor Code and WCAB procedural deadlines.
  • Maintain a monthly billable target of 250 hours.

Requirements

Preferred 1-3+ years of California workers' compensation defense experience. Experience with insurance claims, subrogation, civil litigation, or liens is a plus, but not required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and function effectively in a fast paced environment. High level of organization and attention to detail. Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
