About the role
Zurich is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist II for its Northeast region. This role offers a flexible hybrid or remote schedule from Parsippany, Boston, or one of the specified states.
Responsibilities
- Document claims files accurately and update information in compliance with best practices.
- Determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts and applying applicable law.
- Verify policy coverage and determine if losses fall within policy limits.
- Create and implement a case strategy, evaluate claims, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Estimate and validate claim values, and perform ongoing reviews throughout the claims cycle.
- Assess damages and negotiate settlements within authority limits.
- Meet quality standards by adhering to best practices and maintaining confidentiality.
- Communicate with customers proactively, respond to inquiries, and participate in marketing efforts.
- Refer claims to subrogation and fraud teams as needed.
- Provide risk insights and trends to the business unit or customers as requested.
- Protect Zurich's reputation by keeping claims information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through participation in educational opportunities and professional societies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance area, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3+ years of experience, or
- Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 2+ years of experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance area, and must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Workers Compensation line of business.
- 3+ years of experience handling litigation management.
- Specialization in PA jurisdiction with knowledge of NJ and/or VA jurisdictions.
- Knowledge and skill in claims handling, negotiation, and handling additional jurisdictions.
- EDI filing requirements, MSA/Medicare knowledge, WCCA, WCCP Designations.
Benefits
The pay range for this position is $59,900.00 - $98,200.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. Zurich offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for employees and their families.
