This role involves analyzing Lost-Time Workers Compensation claims on behalf of valued clients to determine benefits due, while ensuring ongoing adjudication of claims within service expectations, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to achieve appropriate and timely resolution by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for directions in a professional and timely manner.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of Workers Compensation claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Jurisdiction knowledge specific to Maryland (MD).
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.

Skills

• Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analysis.
• Ability to handle work-related stress and multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Computer keyboarding proficiency.
• Strong auditory, visual, and verbal communication skills.

Pay

For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting, the range of starting pay for this role is $60,000 – $68,000. Actual compensation is influenced by skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location.
