About the role

Acrisure is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner to manage lost time workers’ compensation claims from assignment through resolution while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant claim handling. This position is ideal for a claims professional who is comfortable managing multiple priorities, navigating complex claims issues, and working in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a desk and caseload of workers’ compensation claims in an efficient and professional manner
  • Investigate claims thoroughly, including coverage, liability, and exposure analysis
  • Evaluate claim exposure and maintain accurate and timely reserves
  • Manage litigation activity and coordinate with defense counsel as needed
  • Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate resolutions with claimants and attorneys
  • Monitor and manage medical treatment activity and claim progression
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and organized claim documentation within the claims system
  • Ensure claim payments are processed accurately and timely
  • Support timely and compliant claim resolution strategies
  • Maintain communication with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and clients throughout the claims process
  • Participate in required training and maintain knowledge of assigned state workers’ compensation statutes
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Workers’ compensation claims handling experience required
  • Lost time workers’ compensation claims experience beneficial
  • Exposure to litigation management and settlement negotiations beneficial
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and sound decision-making ability
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Professional and customer-focused approach when working with clients and claimants
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new systems

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree beneficial
  • Adjuster licensing beneficial or ability to obtain licensing as required
  • Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership
