About the role
Acrisure is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner to manage lost time workers’ compensation claims from assignment through resolution while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant claim handling. This position is ideal for a claims professional who is comfortable managing multiple priorities, navigating complex claims issues, and working in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a desk and caseload of workers’ compensation claims in an efficient and professional manner
- Investigate claims thoroughly, including coverage, liability, and exposure analysis
- Evaluate claim exposure and maintain accurate and timely reserves
- Manage litigation activity and coordinate with defense counsel as needed
- Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate resolutions with claimants and attorneys
- Monitor and manage medical treatment activity and claim progression
- Maintain accurate, timely, and organized claim documentation within the claims system
- Ensure claim payments are processed accurately and timely
- Support timely and compliant claim resolution strategies
- Maintain communication with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and clients throughout the claims process
- Participate in required training and maintain knowledge of assigned state workers’ compensation statutes
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- Workers’ compensation claims handling experience required
- Lost time workers’ compensation claims experience beneficial
- Exposure to litigation management and settlement negotiations beneficial
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and sound decision-making ability
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Professional and customer-focused approach when working with clients and claimants
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree beneficial
- Adjuster licensing beneficial or ability to obtain licensing as required
- Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership
